Opening of server 2 with 2x speed.

I agree with this proposal. This way increases the number of players, instead than decrease as is happening!!! it is true that there are 1000 registered players, but from the beginning of the server to date, the activities of the servers has gone decreased.

This issue of decrease of the players and the activity must be a reason of study by RaVenC.

I just think it would be a good time to improve something and don't let the game die.

Just use some strategy to put even more players on the game and make worth the work that have been done so far for the people that have supported this project and have done something for it during this year.

This is also a way to give another chance to the players that have left the game and an opportunity for new players registered.

One Server is enough

New server or not, this game needs more frequent updates, more updates that will really change a bit the game, not in a bad way, some new units, some kind of system that speeds up the start of the game for new guys

The new accounts on s1 get first 3,4 or 5 months 50% speed up so they can catch up, someone should do the math how long would be perfect.

As we see in "pratt" case for example that he came in top 10 in 3 months,
So it is possible to catch up if you are active,

And that option of faster development for new accounts could lure people back to s1and give them chance to play on a crowded server rising buildings and indexes faster then top players, trying to catch up while they still got farms ( inactive players ) so they can farm and rise even faster.

Yes but i think one year with double speed will improve that accounts on s2 a lot more than ours here where we put a lot of work into.

How you do that? You put a date, and all accounts made after for example 1.12. Have 5 months of double speed, after 5 months double speed is disabled and they countinue to play

If server 2 opens now, server 1 will lost a lot of people that will give all attention to s2, and a lot of people from s1 will not have the willingnes to play s2 knowing that after 1 year they will need to choose only one account from that two they was giving its time to develop

I think inactive accounts from 60/90 days, RaVenC should give them to new players

I would give my acc away instantly if it will bring more people to play, restart of server whatever needed, i think the whole community think the same way, we all want a lot of players.

I think we all know the real reason that activity is dying, and its laughable that your trying to fool the people here into thinking it was something (someone) else. Changing forum accts doesnt hide you that well, and many of us blame you for the current lack of activity.

I would like a second server at double speed, but would never waste the time on BOTH servers if in the end I have to pick ONE. this means more people will leave the already depleted s1. Yes, s2 will be more active and even, but s1 will die completely in only a few months.

I want to give you an example: Ogame

If Ogame had just one server, it would be long dead.

So I think that instead of killing Stiddari, you have to find a way to keep it alive as long as possible

An easy way with not much programming would be that inactive accs for lets say 21 days get into a "pool" of accounts that new people when register can get. For accounts in VM mode lets say after 1 or 2 months.

Also to protect new players when they get en existing account, there should be attack protection for lets say 7 to 14 days, so they settle, and have time to learn basic and most advanced things about this game( if they are new), if they dont want that kind of protection they can cancel it.

I think we will have canibal efect with 2nd server...
priorities:
1. Improve s1, including speed, existing accounts or any advantage for new players.
2. If nessecery, 2nd server but complete independent.
3. Improving some rules, war rules example

First and most importantly, would is there a need for a new server if there are still important updates needed to make Stiddari more competetive, we all know RaVenC has not got much time but first comes first, many basic updates are needed first, a new server would be just a way to fool our selves that everything is improving but we are just by passing that.

I think its a stupid idea to create a s2 and then merge with s1 because this would just create the same problem there is now, but most probably the other way around all those in s2 will be much more advanced than those in s1, so why keep playing s1?? This would kill s1 and everyone would move to s2, it would end up like the testserver...

So what can be done? Its a hard call but brainstorming would help... I would give an idea.
Close s1 and open a s2, give 14days for everyone to decide if he would transfer his account or start new, those that transfer will get 25% speed for lets say 3months and those that start new will get 50% speed for 3 months.
This way the server would be a bit more equal than the previous idea given.

and well there is allways the option of creating a modifiers server and in 1year create a sv2 for mercs.... this way sv1 would not die.

Like i said, updates updates...more content, with more content and more stuff to do in game more people will stick to it, and make a way for new players to catch up, like i explained already about the system of inactive and VM accounts. Or a sistem to speed up the game of newcomers so they catchup.

I don't have any idea how you want to transfer acounts from 2 different servers? I mean what if there are doubling buildings? And what is ne purpose oft that anyways?.

I would like a new server (completely independent) like s1 is. There shouldn't be differences.

I can't recall if it was cesc, but i have the idea to implement a buildingspeedboost for new gamers on the old servers like this:

The server runs for 10 days, you get a speed boost of 100% for 9 days.
100 days, speed boost for 90 days.
1000 days, speed boost for 900 days.

So its always 90% of the time you missed.
That way, new players have the chance to get to the top while older players have the 10% advantage of beeing there first. I think thats kinda fair, but i don't have any idea if its possible for ravenc to actually implement that.

If I did the math wrong, please show me, I tend to make simple mistakes^^

edit: I don't know how i like the inactive pool thing, what if your job requires that you ship for 3 month around the world, but you want to play on afterwards? The limit has to be very high (at least a year of inactivity) and you should still have the choice if you want that account. A short remark that this account wasn't yours originally should be there too.

I think that the opening of a new server will kill this one, it will divide the player base and being left with a handful of players doesn't mean to be alive, I for one will move because I started 7 months later and 1 year with speed boost could do wonders for me

I think that updates to the current server, point-based bashing and attacking rules to small players from the top and other possible implementations should be done first before thinking in opening a new server, because people can't deny that one of the problems with people leaving is the bashing of top accounts and by bashing I don't mean 5 attacks a day, I mean bastards taking out troops with scouts for the fun of it...
